Nostalgia Night with “Frank Sinatra” - A Night of the American Songbook

This event turned out to be a wonderful success! Over 230 people joined us for a night of fantastic music, dancing, food and libations. A special thanks to Phil Paleologos for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Foundation, as well as his usual phenomenal job as our Master of Ceremonies. Thank you to the Board of Directors of the Foundation whose efforts helped to make this event such an uplifting evening.
All funds raised will go toward supporting the future of the Foundation in its efforts to ensure that the people of greater New Bedford have access to high quality, affordable health care.
A most sincere thank you to all of you who attended the event. It is because of generous people like you that we are able to continue our quest.

The Foundation has been active in raising money and awareness for various programs at the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center since our last entry. We have worked to assist Women’s Health in establishing itself as a viable and vital part of the Health Center. We have collaborated with Lifespan of Rhode Island to bring high quality pediatric sub-specialties such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Immunology to the Pediatrics department. Additionally, we have raised money for the Wellness Connection at the Health Center to assist in the establishment of programs in Nutrition, Smoking Cessation, and Diabetes Counseling. We are in the process of developing a Cooking Healthy program which will be demonstrated by Master Chef George Karousos. Future fundraising events include a Road Race, and a Nostalgia Night. The 5th Annual Doctors’ Cook Off and 25th Anniversary Gala was a terrific success!! 300 people attended the event on Saturday,September 30, 2006, at the Great Hall in Fall River, MA. Through the fantastic generosity of those who attended the event, as well as those people who contributed, the foundation was able to raise over $40,000.00!! On Saturday, September 30, 2006, from 5:30 to 10:30 PM the foundation will sponsor the 5th Annual Doctors’ Cook Off & 25th Anniversary Gala for the greater New Bedford Community Health Center.
Area physicians will compete for culinary supremacy in this unique and exciting fundraiser. The evening’s menu will be supervised by renowned Master Chef George Karousos. Music will be provided by the John Harrison Quartet. Tickets are $125 per person, and include open bar, dinner, music, and wine tasting. Full table sponsorship is available for $1,250.
This worthwhile event will be held at the Abbey Grill, the Great Hall, 100 Rock Street, Fall River, MA. Black tie required.

Our first guests will be Master Chef George Karousos, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, and Robert Nochimow, Executive Director of the Foundation.
